Introduction
Roger Hewett is no stranger to the world of dance. His first musical employment was at the age of 16 when he accompanied ballet, tap and modern classes in his hometown city of Norwich, in the east of England. He then worked as pianist for the renowned Laine Theatre Arts in Epsom, south of London. A skilled improviser, he would 'compose' the music on the spot for exercises. This ability saved a tremendous amount of time in class. 

Since coming to Canada in 1988, Roger has worked for l'École supérieure de danse du Québec, and as company pianist for Les Grands Ballets Canadiens. Nowadays, despite his busy schedule, he still occasionally guests for the company and plays for other companies passing through Montreal on tour. He has accompanied classes for La La La Human Steps, the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, The Cullberg Ballet (Sweden), the Alberta Ballet and the Gala des Etoiles amongst others.
